Calling all employers and business operators in Hamilton! You are invited to this informative event geared to demystify and dispel fears and misconceptions around hiring people who have a disability including people with Down syndrome.
The Down Syndrome Association of Hamilton and the Ontario Disability Employment Network are co- hosting this employer engagement event on Monday, June 24th at the Art Gallery of Hamilton. The formal portion of this event runs from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm but attendees can enjoy private access to some of the galleries and exhibitions which will be open prior to the start of the event from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
The event's keynote speaker is Joe Hoffer, a lawyer and partner with Cohen Highley LLP, a law firm with offices in London, Kitchener, Chatham and Sarnia. Cohen Highley LLP has consistently employed persons with intellectual disabilities in highly visible client service and employee service positions for over 30 years with positive impacts for the firm in the workplace and in the community.
A panel of local business will share their experience of boosting profits and building brand loyalty by tapping into a demographic comprised of people who have a disability, including Down syndrome.
