Dear Members and Stakeholders,
Please be advised that all Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN) in-person activities are postponed until further notice.
COVID-19 in our communities is evolving, and it is in everyone's best interest to follow the advice of public health officials and help limit the spread of the coronavirus.
ODEN is taking this step to help protect the health and safety of:
- Our staff team
- The staff of the businesses, agencies and provincial government ministries we engage with regularly
- Community members who may attend events hosted or supported by ODEN
If you have reserved a seat and paid for a scheduled employment training session or business event, you will receive further details about your options.
We will continue to re-assess our work plans based on recommendations from Ontario Public Health and other Ministry officials. Please read this message from the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) to ODEN member agencies.
While our Diversity and Inclusion Specialists are not travelling to meet in person during these challenging times, you can keep in touch with them by telephone, email or remote video conferencing. There's no "business as usual" for anyone, but technology can help us all maintain relationships through this crisis.
We are encouraging all of our members to stay in touch with each other; and to share strategies and best practices for coping with not only the business effects of COVID-19, but also the effects it may be having on the workplace mental health and well-being of your teammates, co-workers and clients. The health and safety of everyone in our province is paramount, and the number-one priority for ODEN right now.
We will be in touch again soon,
Jeannette Campbell
CEO, Ontario Disability Employment Network
