In partnership with the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA), LinkedIn Canada, March of Dimes (MOD) and Niagara Training Employment Agency (NTEC), ODEN is leading a Sector Based Workforce Development project focused on building local capacity in Ontario’s Agricultural and Mining sectors to employ people who have a disability. This project will develop labour market partnerships that will eliminate barriers to employment for people who have a disability in these sectors in Ontario.

This work will be accomplished through meaningful partnerships that align education, training, and employment services with the needs of employers in each sector. People who have a disability will be provided with the necessary skills training and education, and industry specific competencies for in-demand jobs. Those skills and competencies will be directly informed by industry specific needs and forecasted trends. This model will be replicated in other regions and sectors, furthering removing barriers to employment for people who have a disability.
